Cast
The film stars Ajay Devgn as Ravi, a street-smart moneylender who returns to his village to avenge his fathers death and restore his familys honor. Plot
The film begins with Ravis father (Anil Dhawan), a priest of the village temple, being accused of stealing the temples jewels by Sher Singh, who had actually committed the crime with his goons. Unable to bear the humiliation, Ravis father commits suicide. Ravi tries to kill Sher Singh but fails and escapes with his mother and brother. Years later, Ravi returns to his village as a successful moneylender and confronts Sher Singh and Narayan Das. He also falls in love with Rekha, who initially hates him but later realizes his true intentions. Ravi also reunites with his childhood friend Shyam (Riteish Deshmukh), who helps him in his mission. Ravi exposes Sher Singhs crimes and restores his fathers reputation. He also marries Rekha and lives happily ever after with his family.
Music
The films music was composed by Sajid-Wajid, while the lyrics were written by Sameer Anjaan, Indeevar, Mayur Puri, and Sachin Jigar. The soundtrack consists of five songs and two remixes. The songs are Naino Mein Sapna, a remake of the original song from the 1983 film; Taki Taki, another remake of an old song; Dhoka Dhoka, an item number featuring six actresses; Bum Pe Laat, a comic song featuring Ravi and Narayan Das; and Thank God Its Friday, a disco song featuring Sonakshi Sinha. The remixes are Naino Mein Sapna (Remix) and Taki Taki (Remix). The songs were well received by the listeners but failed to create any lasting impact.
